Satya first arrived in the United States as an international student. He attended Kuyper College, started his family, and settled in Grand Rapids, MI. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Theology. Later, he had the opportunity to complete his graduate studies at Calvin, earning a Master of Theological Studies (MTS) and a Master of Theology (ThM) in the New Testament in 2022.

We all recognize how expensive a college education has become in America. It has become increasingly difficult for most students to graduate without student loans. His loan-free education was made possible thanks to the generosity of some benevolent individuals who provided scholarships throughout those years.

Recognizing the need for robust theological education, discipleship, and mentoring in Nepal, the Maharjans began investing in individuals eager to learn about the Word of God. The family dedicated themselves to supporting the education of marginalized and underprivileged children from some of the country’s most remote areas, offering scholarships to help them continue their studies.

We sincerely pray for God to raise servant-leaders among the courageous Gorkhas, who will dedicate themselves to impacting lives and sparking community transformation.
