Board of Directors

Our Exceptional Team

Meet our passionate Board of Directors, each specializing in various fields, united in their mission to support church planting initiatives in Nepal with their wealth of experience and steadfast dedication.

Steve Garvelink

President

Steve is the retired president of the North American division of a global manufacturing company. He is married to Lisa, and has three daughters, two sons-in-law, and four grandchildren. A lifetime member of Brookside Christian Reformed Church, he is actively involved in various ministries there.

Daniel S. Christian

Secretary

Though officially retired, Daniel is the Founder and Author of the Learning Ecosystems blog and the Learning Architect behind a vision that he’s entitled, Learning from the Living [AI-based Class] Room – both of which he continues to work on. Half of Daniel’s background was in the corporate world before he moved into the world of higher education. Throughout his career, Daniel has worked with emerging technologies, especially as they were related to communication, education, and training. Daniel believes in the power of prayer and is looking forward to collaborating with the leadership at Encounter Church Nepal/Renewed Hope International. It will be exciting to see where the LORD leads us!

Donna Messina

Vice President

Donna is the Associate Director for Camp Roger, a Christian camp and outdoor education facility that strives to introduce children to God in His creation. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the parks around her house with her husband, Chuck, and dog, Macy.   Additionally, she volunteers on various committees at her church.

Guy Flom

Treasurer

My name is Guy Flom, and I have been blessed to be a part of the God-filled ministry with Renewed Hope International.  Prasha and I met during our time at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary while in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, and I love her ability to connect with others and build strong relationships–I trust what she and Satya are doing in Nepal is focused on bringing Glory to God and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ!

I currently work as a therapist in West Michigan where I reside with my wife and two pups. We love taking a trip to Disney when we can, as my wife and I are really just kids in grown-up bodies. Our time on earth is limited, and life is a fragile gift. So, love God and love people, and try and be the best version of yourself – full of grace and peace as God the Father so freely gives through his Son and the Comforter, the Holy Spirit.

Prasha Maharjan

Board Member

Mental Health counselor specializing in Childhood Trauma and founding member of Christian Counselors Network Nepal. Committed to fostering unity and equality in underprivileged communities.
